In preparation for the Disney marathon in January, Andi ran the White Rock half marathon in Dallas this weekend. Her pace was at approx 8:29 per miles for the 13.1 mile chilly, rainy run. Matt, Carrie, Claire, Caroline and myself went and cheered her on. We also cheered for one of Andi and Matt's church friends, CP McCollum, and celebrated after the race with his wife Casey and his parents.
Much to my surprise- at the 5 plus mile mark- just as Andi was running by, I heard 'Brenda' called out. Notice the guy in the white shirt running to Andi's left (she is waving at Claire in the picture). Peter Abrigg. He was in middle school and high school with Andi and is married to her freshman college roommate and my former clinic worker :) Molly Carrigan Abrigg. At the finish line, we saw Molly and another high school friend, Sarah Jones Thornton. Small world. Thus a picture of three sweet, beautiful young women is included here. (Sarah's husband, Ryan, also ran in the half marathon and he is very fast!!!)
I was the middle school nurse when Andi, Molly and Sarah were passing through Madison. It is always so good to see 'my kids' grown up.
